Yoga in Oxford
‘Yoga is your direct participation in the extreme intelligence of life*’
Hello and welcome to my website. I'm Joanna Jeczalik and I've been practising and studying yoga for more than 15 years now. I hope this brief introduction may give you some idea of the kind of yoga I teach. You are more than welcome to come for a taster session at any of my yoga classes in Oxford.
Yoga is an integral part of my life and never fails to sustain me through life's challenges and opportunities, offering a constant flow of wisdom and energy. I trained as a yoga teacher at the Life Centre in London, gaining the Life Centre Diploma and the British Wheel of Yoga's teaching qualification. I am now a teaching member of the British Wheel of Yoga and live and teach yoga in Oxford.
The benefits of yoga are widely known and appreciated in the West. A yoga practice brings suppleness and energy to the body, and peace and relaxation to the mind. Both the practice of yoga and its philosophy offer an effective antidote to some of the diverse stresses of modern life.
Over the years, I have found my own regular yoga practice to have many and surprising effects. The emphasis on the breath, which draws the mind to the present moment, also brings a greater awareness of the constant pulsation and creativity of life; a sense of peace which is vibrant with life energy.
As I teach traditional hatha yoga, I try to transmit some of the philosophy of yoga in my classes wherever it might be relevant or useful. This 4,000 year- old tradition has a great deal to offer in the 21st century.
If you would like more information about my classes or have any questions, please do email me at joannajeczalik@yahoo.com. Times and dates of classes can be found in the

*(Mark Whitwell : Yoga of Heart)
‘Faire face à la réalité en voyant en toute chose la manifestation de l’essence du Coeur. Pas de blocage émotionnel, pas de blocage de la pensée différenciatrice, pas de fermeture du corps. Pas de fuite, pas de recherche. Pas d’évitement, pas d’affrontement. Dans cette ouverture, tout est yoga.
Etre un avec toute chose.’
