'Breath is central to yoga because it is central to life...and yoga is about life'
T KrishnamacharyaMy classes are based around a physical practice, with modifications to suit beginners if needed, and combine traditional hatha
asanas with
pranayama, meditation and relaxation. Each class generally starts with breath-centred awareness, followed by a warm-up and a flowing sequence of poses, and finishing with relaxation.
All levels and ages are welcome, including complete beginners. Classes vary from 1 ¼ hours to 2 hours.
It is best to wear loose, comfortable clothing and to bring a blanket for the relaxation sequence. It is advisable to have a relatively empty stomach, and not to have eaten a meal for at least 2 hours. If you have any injuries or health complaints, please do let me know at the beginning of the class. As a general rule, I do not teach students who are pregnant but can recommend suitably qualified ante-natal yoga teachers.
